Playing Khmer Traditional Games of Aii students
The Khmer New Year is a time to give gifts or presents to coworkers, as well as to contribute money or clothing to the less fortunate. People flock to the temple in the evening to build a sand mountain and thank the monks for the blessing of happiness and tranquility. It is also a time for family celebrations, as well as Cambodia’s most important holiday and one of the few periods during the year when Cambodians are not required to work. Our students showed that they are still practicing their cultural traditions through games as they celebrated KNY at school.
